At Mary MacKillop College, we offer a wide range of co-curricular opportunities that allow students to explore their interests, build new skills and connect with peers across year levels. One of our most popular activities is the Cooking Club, a vibrant and inclusive space for students from Years 7 to 12 who share a love of food and creativity in the kitchen.
Held every Thursday afternoon in Terms 2 and 3, Cooking Club invites students of all skill levels—no experience required—to engage in hands-on culinary experiences. From sweet treats to savoury favourites, our budding chefs learn to prepare a diverse range of dishes from around the globe, all while developing confidence, teamwork and a sense of fun.
Some of the delicious creations in Term 2 2025 have included:
Students also take part in themed cooking challenges and collaborative food projects that promote creativity, cultural awareness and a sense of achievement. Cooking Club is a warm and welcoming environment where students can relax, connect and express themselves through food.
It is one of the many ways we support the development of well-rounded, confident young women ready to thrive both within and beyond the classroom.
