From the Sports Coordinator

The winter season of sport has finally arrived! We are all excited to be playing sport at the College once again. Our Netball, Badminton and Soccer teams all completed their first round of matches over the weekend. The season will be shorter this year with only seven rounds including playoffs. Game information is available via SEQTA with all teams encouraged to continue following good hygiene practices and staying away from training or games when unwell. Knockout sport has also resumed this term with teams competing in Netball, Soccer and Volleyball competitions. We wish all teams the best of luck for the season ahead.

In a normal year, the Term 2 holiday break would be spent in sunny Queensland for the school’s annual netball trip. Unfortunately this year the carnival was cancelled which was extremely disappointing for our senior students. The Sports Department decided to surprise the team with a scavenger hunt along the esplanade at West Beach to enable the girls to reminisce previous trips and bond as a team. The weather on the day was less than ideal, with a thick sea fog covering the normal picturesque views. The girls were split into teams and had a number of riddles to solve and challenges to compete. Luckily there were hot chocolates and hot chips awaiting teams as they completed the challenge.
