In the last newsletter, we saw many tasks in the making, and now, at the end of Semester 1, we have the finished pieces!
Year 7s completed the term with the story of the Prince of Egypt told through landscapes and silhouettes.
Year 8 students designed and painted rocks with inspirational messages. They have hidden some of these rocks throughout the school grounds in the hope that they will bring happiness to those who find them.
Year 9s constructed 3D houses using cardboard, demonstrating shape and texture. Students were influenced by the work of Designer and artist, Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Their ‘Cardboard City’ is on display in the library.
Year 10 Art students worked on Visual Study Research Projects, studying elements of Art through drawing and photography.
Year 10 Design students completed the 3D fashion garments on display in the front office foyer. They portrayed the theme of Film and Television from the following: Maleficent, Beauty and the Beast, Alice In Wonderland, Aladdin, Sesame Street, Monsters Inc., IT and Frozen.
Year 11 Art students completed self-portraits using acrylic and oil paints on canvas.
Year 11 Design students investigated interior design styles and design principles in their folios, which led to their final room designs.
Year 12s are working on their folios as they develop ideas, techniques and themes for their journey towards their final practical pieces. We look forward to seeing these in Term 4.
Wishing you all safe and happy holidays.
