Friday 14 February is Library Lovers Day
To celebrate Library Lovers Day, the Library is holding a competition. Throughout this month, students can fill out slips (available in the library) and either recommend a book that they have loved or share a reason why they love their Library. All entries will go on display, and then into a draw at the end of the month. First prize is a $25 book voucher from Dillons at Norwood.
The Library Book Club has proven to be very popular with our students, with over 90 members in 2019.
We meet two or three times a term, and are a friendly, informal and inclusive group that loves to read, share, choose and discuss books.
Our first meeting will be next Wednesday 12 February and members will have the opportunity to select new books for the Library from a range provided by St Georges Books.
Membership also counts towards cocurricular activities, and we are taking our Book-Clubbers to the 'Meet the Writers' at the Adelaide Convention in June.
New members are always welcome!
The Premier’s Reading Challenge for 2020 has begun!
Reading records are now available from the Library. You can also download a copy here.
We encourage all of our students to complete the Challenge. Year 7 students are required to read only four books from the Challenge List and eight of their own choosing. But do remember that our library currently holds 735 titles on the Challenge List so there is something for everyone. Don’t forget to include e-Books, audio books, class/shared reading (this includes books you read at home with your family, or even books that are read to you by an adult), prescribed books that you have to read for school (any subject), non-fiction, research for assignments and books in languages other than English.
You have until Friday 4 September to get your Reading Records in to me.
If you need help or have any queries, please either email me or come and see me in the library. Don’t forget to check out some of the fantastic new books now available to borrow. Lets make it our biggest year yet!
