From the Chair of the Board

The year end is fast approaching and again it is time to reflect and be grateful for the year that was.

A new chapter in the Mary MacKillop College story began this year, welcoming the inaugural class of Year 7. The realisation of a strategy foreshadowed by our Principal Mrs Kath McGuigan many years ago.

During the year I have attended many College activities and have had the privilege of interacting with the students, staff and families. I am humbled by what I see, hear and learn.

You may recall that Mrs McGuigan took renewal leave during Term 3. The benefit to the College from Kath’s experience ensures that Mary MacKillop College is at the forefront of teaching and learning, and provides for excellence in girls education.

Ms Helen Steele, Deputy Principal has been appointed Principal of St Dominic’s Priory College, congratulations Helen. Thank you for your example of discipline, poise and grace and your tireless contribution to Mary MacKillop College, we are proud to have been part of your journey.

I confirm that the Board is committed and supports a forward program of investment and growth and continue the amenity refresh program.

On behalf of the College Board I  wish all the students their families and staff every blessing for a happy Christmas and a bright new year.
