There has been much attention in recent weeks in regards to students and mobile phone use at schools; to ban or not to ban. It is a time of change for teachers and students. Schools are no longer static places of learning where teachers see themselves as the font of all knowledge. Rather, learning happens in a myriad of ways; fast and furious; slow and methodical; rich and varied; intentional and repetitive.

Alliance study into degree, career & life outcomes of girls' school graduates
Dear Alumna,
As one of our much valued alumnae, we would appreciate your input into a new study commissioned by the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia. Researchers from QUT and the University of Canberra are researching the degree, career and life outcomes of graduates of girls' schools so they can paint a picture of life beyond the school gates for women who attended single-sex schools.
We would appreciate it if you could take 15-20 minutes to complete a survey collecting data for this important new research study.
COMPLETE THE SURVEY
The survey closes on Friday 16 August 2019. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr Rebecca English or Assoc Prof Raechel Johns via r.english@qut.edu.au or raechel.johns@canberra.edu.au.
Thank you.

Opening Prayer |
Loving God we give thanks
For all the teaching and learning
That has taken place at Mary MacKillop College
during this term.
For the gifts that have been shared
and the challenges that
have been faced.
For the friendships that have just begun
and for those that have grown.
For the faith that has been lived
For the hope that has lifted us
on the challenging days,
and for the love that has kept us going.
We praise you for all those
in our College Community
who have shared in the work of this school term.
We ask you Lord
to bless all the students and staff
and in particular, the Year 12 students
as they study for their trial exams in Term 3.
May your Spirit inspire them with confidence
and calmness.
Bless our families as we take our
holidays, may our time together
leave us with memories to cherish.
Pour out your love on us so that we
may return renewed and refreshed
to continue our journey together
in Term 3.
Through the intercession of
St Mary of the Cross MacKillop,
we pray that your love will fill many hearts.

I’m here to talk about my family’s journey, from Afghanistan to Iran then to Australia. This issue is important to me since I am an Afghan, I am an immigrant, I am a Muslim, and I am the daughter of a refugee.
