Premier’s Reading Challenge

The 2019 Premier’s Reading Challenge is now under way. The Challenge continues until Year 12, so our Year 7s and 8s are strongly encouraged to participate.

Students read a combination of books from the Challenge booklists and those of their own choosing. Our Library holds nearly 700 of the books on the Challenge list. Students can do a simple search on our library catalogue to locate them, and all Premiers Reading Challenge books also have their own special spine label. Students can also choose to read books in languages other than English, as well as graphic novels, manga and non-fiction.

The Challenge book lists are available on the website and student reading records are available from the Library, or online at Please ensure that students fill in their reading records with the title and author of the book and get them signed off as they go. I am also happy to help students with their reading records

The Challenge finishes on Friday 6 September, and we hope to make it our biggest year yet. Please contact me if you have any queries

Our first meeting was held on Thursday 7 February and I was very pleased to welcome our newest members. Over 20 students have joined so far this year, bringing our numbers to over 80!

To accommodate our younger members, I will be trialling a Puffin Club this term in conjunction with Penguin Publishers. More details to follow
