Term 1 Sport Wrap up

I would like to commend our players and coaches of Term 1 Sport for a successful season.  Thank you to our coaches, teachers, parents and players who were involved in Term 1 Sport, your contribution to the Sport Program at Mary MacKillop College is much appreciated. A staggering nine teams played off in the grand finals. Of those nine teams, six teams won the Premiership in their respective grade. Congratulations to Senior MMC 1 Tennis, Senior MMC 1 Volleyball,  Junior MMC 1 Touch Football, Junior MMC 1 Tennis, Junior MMC 1 Basketball and Junior MMC 2 Volleyball teams.

 

Term 2/3 Winter Sport

The winter season of sport is upon us. This Saturday 12 May, Mary MacKillop students will be waking up early to play in their first round of sport for the Term 2/3 winter season. This year we have 17 teams consisting of 13 netball teams, two soccer teams and two badminton teams representing the College. I wish all players and coaches all the best for the season and I look forward to my weekly Saturday visits to teams throughout the season! A reminder that important information such as the weekly schedule, game times, venue locations and wet weather policy can all be found on the Sport Portal page via SEQTA for both parents and students. If a student is unable to attend training or a game, she or a parent/guardian must notify me in advance. Students will, once again, be offered the opportunity to play for the College in the SACSSGSA afterschool AFL Football competition during Term 3. Games will be played on Wednesday afternoons at Saint Ignatius’ College. Permission forms and more information will be distributed to interested students mid-Term 2.

 

Knockout Sport

The knockout season is fast approaching. This week, many girls trialled for Year 8/9 Netball, Year 10 Netball, Open Netball, Junior Soccer and Senior Soccer. Thank you to all girls who attended the trials. Students who have been selected in any of these teams to represent the College will receive information regarding trainings and first round games very shortly. Knockout badminton trials will take place on Friday 18 May (Week 3), during lunch.
