Shrove Tuesday

Our Social Justice Captains and Senior Student Leaders, with the help of Ms Nadia Witton and Mrs Narelle Matthews, got Shrove Tuesday and Project Compassion off to a flying start. On Shrove Tuesday, pancakes are traditionally eaten. Pancakes were sold to students at recess with a variety of toppings.  All the proceeds from the sale of the pancakes go to Caritas’ Project Compassion.

Ash Wednesday Liturgy

On the Wednesday 14 February, the College gathered in the gymnasium to celebrate Ash Wednesday by holding a Liturgy. The College welcomed Fr Stan Lim to celebrate this Liturgy with us. This was his first at our College. During the Liturgy ashes were marked on our foreheads as a sign of our desire to repent during the Lenten season. Our Social Justice Captain launched this year’s Project Compassion campaign, “For a Just Future’. We are reminded that during Lent we are often asked to give up something and donate the money saved to Project Compassion. During Lent, each pastoral care class will collect money as a practical way to show solidarity with poorer people in our world and ensure a ‘Just Future’ for the world’s marginalised.
