Swimming Carnival
Sunshine, swimming, cheering, green mythical creatures, blue characters, yellow hippies and red lifeguards were the perfect combination for the MMC Swimming Carnival held on Friday 2 February. The leadership and organsiation from our four Sports Captains was tested in the very first week of school and they did not disappoint. I commend Trinity, Nadia, Gianna and Jacinta on their outstanding leadership and enthusiasm displayed on Friday and leading up to the carnival.

On behalf of the Sports Department and College we congratulate the following age group champions and runners up:

  • U/14 Runner Up: Stella
  • U/14 Champion: Amelia
  • U/15 Runner Up: Abbey
  • U/15 Champion: Ava
  • U/16 Runner Up: Emily
  • U/16 Champion: Antoinette
  • 16+ Runner Up: Mackenzie
  • 16+ Champion: Tess

Flora House, under the guidance and leadership of Captain Jacinta Boffo, were the Spirit Award winners for 2018 after having cheered, sang and danced all day long.

This year, Tenison were able to retain the shield from 2017.

The results were:

  • 1st position: Tenison with 559 points
  • 2nd position: Tappeiner with 440
  • 3rd position: Flora with 413 points
  • 4th position: Alexander with 397 points

Congratulations to all members of Tenison and Captain, Gianna Faraonio.

We look forward to the Athletics Carnival on Friday Week 7 and of course cannot wait to see what the Harry Potter themed costumes bring on the day. Perhaps a quidditch event or two may be included on the day!
