From the Deputy Principal

Year 5 Come ‘n’ Try Day, Year 8 Retreat, CARITAS Fundraising.

In recent weeks I have found myself engaged with the document “Theology of the Body” as I prepare to teach the Sacrament of marriage to Year 11 students. I think it is reasonable to suggest that whilst it is not a light read it does have the power to enlighten. The complexity of John Paul II's work cannot be summarised in one short newsletter article and I will not attempt to do so here. I do believe that it speaks powerfully about God’s presence in each person and each encounter. When we recognise that God exists in each other it reminds us of the sacredness of being human.

Interesting read from the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia

A Girl Guiding New Zealand survey has found that one in four girls cite their mother as their most important female role model. Opening Prayer

Friday 26 May is National Sorry Day, a day where the Australian people formally remember and commemorate the mistreatment of our country's indigenous population. In the words of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, “never see a need without doing something about it”, let us all join together to do what is needed to live in harmony.

Lord, at every moment of your existence you are present to us in gentle compassion. Help us to be present to one another so that our presence may be a strength that heals the wounds of time and gives hope that is for all.

We ask this through Jesus Christ. Amen
