From the Principal

Dear Parents and Friends of Mary MacKillop College,

I was delighted by the response to our Open Day. A large number of people came through the school gates and were able to enjoy a taste of all that the College offers. A big thank you to everyone involved. It was a great community day.

Our Exit Survey on the day revealed a high satisfaction with the activities and presentations. There were many questions about Year 7 in 2019 and it was clear that this is a subject concerning many parents.  We will be having an information evening later in the year to address parents' questions.

Open Day, International Women’s Day Breakfast, MMC in Wonderland Formal, Student Leadership, Athletics Carnival, P&F and St Joseph’s Day Mass

Last week we had a most successful Open Day. The sun shone and families poured through our gates delighting in all that was on offer.  Girls left the school grounds with goodies from the learning areas, wide smiles and promises to return in the near future. I sincerely thank all staff involved in the day and I particularly acknowledge your daughters for their commitment to helping the day run smoothly.

2017 School Immunisation Program

Reminder for Parents of Year 8 Students

Eastern Health Authority (EHA) will soon be visiting the College to commence the Varicella and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) (Dose 1) immunisations for those students with parent/guardian consent.

If you did not receive an immunisation consent form from your child, please ask at the school office for one, or contact EHA on 8132 3600.

Please notify us if your child:

  • Your child has already started the HPV program with another provider.
  • Your child has already had the Varicella Zoster vaccine with another provider.
  • You wish to withdraw your consent.
  • Your child’s medical condition has changed.

Please note: If your child requires Varicella immunisation and is 14 years of age or older, a second dose of Varicella vaccine is required 1-2 months after the 1st dose.  There will be a cost for the 2nd dose, which can be administered at your council immunisation clinic or at your GP.

Remember: It is your responsibility to advise EHA on the day of immunisation of any change in the information on the consent form, in particular, your child’s medical condition.  (A signed and dated note presented to the Registered Nurse on the day of immunisation in your child’s diary is acceptable.)
